Of Québécois and Portuguese origin, Noémie da Silva develops a practice spanning photography, photomontage, installation, and new digital media. Her work explores systems of representation, memory, and popular culture through a reflection on the production and circulation of images.
She holds a Master’s degree in Visual and Media Arts from UQÀM and a Bachelor’s degree in Photography from Concordia University. Her work has been presented in exhibitions, publications, and artists’ books. Invested in the artist-run centre network, she co-founded Le Cabinet, espace de production photographique and L’imprimerie, centre d’artistes. She also contributes to the support and development of photographic practices at Concordia University. She lives and works in Montréal. |
